THE DESIGN BRIEF AND PROCESS

Utilising my skills in commercial garment design and Adobe suite software I developed a range of 2D garments as the initial brief for my collaborators.

My intention was to create a range of garments that will ultimately culminate in 3 unique full outfit looks that are typically inline with that of a fast fashion retailers, - commercial and affordable to produce for the lower market fast fashion retailer.

The designs and 3D assets created during this module will also be utilised to populate the

mock presale platform I intend to create for my FMP, so I have collated a tight colour palette that fits within the aesthetics of my MA work so any outcome within this project will be transferrable to future areas of my research and final major project.

This is a multi product range deliberately consisting of garments with different fabric bases to showcase the visual difference this can make when designed and rendered in CLO3D.

Please see below colour palette and initial garment design brief.

CREATING GARMENT FOUNDATIONS

Working with Katie we began building our garment patterns based on my initial design brief.

By utilising 3D garment design software CLO3D we were able to incorporate the fit and construction of the garment in the initial stages eliminating any possible production errors which essentially eliminates the need to sample garments for fit purposes. This process involves mapping out all garment component measurement and digitally assembling these on virtual avatar. No colour or fabric detailing has been incorporated at this stage.

INITIAL BLOCKS-01_edited.jpg

After the initial blocks were created by  Katie and I, we began incorporating colour, graphic and fabric bases onto the garments. Please see this process within the next tab.
